Advisory: Three suspects arrested for robbery/battery downtown
Dear Michael Boler, INDIANAPOLIS- Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) officers and robbery detectives, arrested three suspects after they are believed to have attacked and robbed a man near downtown on Friday night.
Just after 10 pm on April 28, 2017, IMPD officers were flagged down by a male at 10 W Georgia Street who said that he was just the victim of a robbery. The victim and two witnesses told the officers that three subjects, a female and two males, attacked him and removed his money and wallet from his pockets. The victim and witnesses were able to give officers a description of the alleged suspects and called Robbery Detectives to the scene.
Officers responding to the area noticed three people matching the description of the alleged suspects walking in the vicinity of the robbery. The suspects all turned and walked the other way when they spotted the police and were apprehended a short time later when officers found them hiding behind some dumpsters in an alley. The female suspect was found to be in possession of the victim’s money and credit cards.
Officers and robbery detectives conducted a show-up of the alleged suspects and received a positive identification from the victim and a witness. The three suspects were identified as 21-year-old Zachery Decker, 21-year-old Nicholas Winberg, and 24-year-old Cristina Morris. The three suspects were transported to the IMPD Robbery Office where they were interviewed and preliminarily charged with Robbery and Battery. All three were transported to the Arrestee Processing Center by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will review the case and make a changing decision.
